Cheesy peppered chicken

I know, I know, I'm a day late.. life, ya know...anyway. Today I'll be sharing a modified version of a recipe my husband found and we quite liked (originally from food.com) I'm modifying it because they had you frying the chicken in a pan but that resulted in it being tough, which is no good.

What you'll need:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp paprika
1-2 cups shredded cheese of your choice (I used mozzarella)
1 tblsp butter

What to do:

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Mix all your seasonsings together and sprinkle over one side of your chicken, put into the oven until the chicken on top turns white (which means it's cooked, probably about 20 minutes). Flip the chicken over and sprinkle with seasoning but reserving about 1 tsp of it; put the chicken back into the oven until fully cooked. Mean while,  shred your cheese and mix in the remaining seasoning mixture. When the chicken is fully cooked, take the chicken out, turn off your oven, sprinkle the cheese on top and then put the chicken back into the oven until the cheese melts.
That's it, that's all. Easy peasy and delicious! Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. We paired ours with rice but it would go great with potatoes or a salad or whatever you want.

Enjoy!

Sorry about the shitty looking picture lol I kind of ate the rest of it and then realized I was going to take a picture of it first...hunger beat me to it haha also this one looks kind of burnt because I pan fried it which I wouldn't recommend.
